Hello again! It is Chris and Andrea here. Today we are sharing with you a magical experience, we sailed around Ibiza island for a whole week.
We will be sharing our whole itinerary and our favorite secret locations.
The beginning of our journey
Our journey began in Valencia, Spain. Where we left our car and rented a sailing boat on the evening, so we watched sunset as we were leaving the port.
As you may have seen on our stories weather conditions weren’t that good, and it can get cold in the middle of the ocean at night. We sailed for 10 hours straight and woke up early to watch sunrise, for our surprise while we were having breakfast we spotted a family of dolphins, we havent been more excited!
Benirras and Las Dalias Market
The first beach we visited was Benirras, where our friends will get married next year. We left the boat here and went for a swim in their beautiful waters, unfortunately due to the high currents there were a few jellyfishes so we decided to go to another beach and spend the night at San Antonio Port.
After lunch we rented a car in San Antonio, which is cheaper than in other cities and went to the famous hippy market called Las Dalias. You can find anything you want here, from dresses to live music, even Bob Marley was here!
Remember when we said our friends where getting married next year? Here are some photos from the wedding, it was a magical moment and we are so happy for them
Cala Benirras
After their ceremony we went to Benirras Cala to celebrate it and enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets of Ibiza
Ibiza Old Town
Due to the bad weather we spent three nights at San Antonio port as waves were to strong to leave our boat outside a real port. So we decided to get our car and explore the old town of Ibiza.
Make sure to visit its fortress which is listed at the UNESCO World Heritage, you can walk down and enter the old town from there. You will have many cute places to take some photos.
After exploring the town we went to the lookout next to the city hall, where you will find a beautiful crystal clear beach that you can appreciate from up there, also a perfect place to rest.Tip: Join a free tour to get to know Ibizas history
Ca Saleta
Ca Saleta is one of our favourite beaches in Ibiza, is quite popular but you will always find a spot as it is not as crowded as some other beaches in Ibiza.
What we love about this beach is its secret cave where you can look at the whole beach from it
Explore San Antonio, San Miguel, Santa Eulalia and its local beaches
After a few days we got sun again and decided to explore some local beaches and go snorkeling.
Some of our top 10 beaches are Cala Comte and Cala Escondida, totally worth visiting them if you have a car or a bike. We went to Cala Saladeta for the day before sailing to a very especial location.Favorite veggie restaurant —> Natural Point In Santa Eulalia
We spent the night at a private island
We sailed to Espalmador Island, only accesible by boat, either private or daily tours.
If you decide to come with yours, you have the option to spend the night here. We did, and loved it.
We were surrounded by crystal clear water, a beautiful island and the stars, It was an experience that we will never forget. Probably one of the most beautiful locations in all Ibiza. During low tide its possible to cross from this island to Formentera swimming or walking in the sea for around 200 meters, just be careful as a few hours later you wont be able to cross it back.Watch sunset from Es Vedra
Probably you have seen this place all over instagram as its one of the most beautiful places to watch sunset, we decided to enjoy it from the boat and it was very beautiful, so make sure to add it to your list.
Cala Gracia and Sant Josep de Sa Talaia
Since lots of you asked me where our first photo from Ibiza was taken, this is the place. Its difficult to choose a beach, but I would probably choose this one. We felt a very strong connection with it, it was magical! The water is so clean you can even see some mantas and turtles during the day. What’s like sleeping on a boat
Our sailing boat had 3 bedrooms, 2 toilets, a kitchen and a living room. At first it may seem small but once you get used it, its quite big. It was our first time sleeping on a boat like this and really liked the experience. Need to be aware that the boat its always moving, so some people may feel dizzy some times.
We cooked most of our meals in the boat and had them upstairs looking to the ocean and trying to spot some dolphins.Hope this article makes you want to sail around Ibiza and can start planning your future trip!
